Iberica to open first site outside London in Manchester

Spanish restaurant group, Ibérica will open its first site outside London at Allied London’s Spinningfields in Manchester.

The 200-cover restaurant will be the fifth site opening for Ibérica and is part of a revamp for The Avenue which has already seen plenty of new food and drink openings this year, including Wahu, Thaikhun and Fazenda.

Ibérica is working with city centre regeneration specialist Allied London on the site confirmation. Michael Ingall, CEO of Allied London, said, 'The Avenue is evolving into its next generation. It is going to be a great mix of premium retail and high quality restaurants, to achieve our vision and create for Manchester something that is akin the New York meatpacking scene.'

Ibérica's executive head chef Nacho Manzano has an impressive three Michelin stars to his name; two for his celebrated restaurant Casa Marcial and a further star for La Salgar in Asturias, Spain.

Manzano has created a unique à la carte menu for Ibérica Spinningfields that will differ from those at the London restaurants. A bar menu will also be available on the ground floor to complement Ibérica’s signature cocktails and exclusive Spanish wines.
