Andras House to build £10m hotel in Londonderry

Andras House has won permission to build a new £10m hotel with 139 bedrooms in Londonderry.

Andras House, which is owned by well-known Northern Ireland businessman Lord Diljit Rana (pictured), operates five hotels in Belfast under the Ibis, Holiday Inn Express, Ramada Plaza and Days Inn brands, and a Cordia serviced apartment site.

Environment Minister Mark H Durkan said, 'With the recent announcement by Lonely Planet that Northern Ireland is in the top 10 European travel destinations, this very significant hotel in the heart of the city will enhance choice for tourists, business travellers as well as local people.'

The new development will include retail units, apartments and a car park.
