Scunthorpe United has submitted plans to build a new £18m football stadium at the Lincolnshire Lakes development.
The 12,000-seater stadium is set to be developed as part of the mixed-use Lincolnshire Lakes project, which is spearheaded by Lucent Group, and will include 3,500 new houses, a commercial park, a school and a transport hub
Club chairman Peter Swann said that he hoped work on the new stadium would start in March or April this year and be completed by May 2016.
