Misha Zelman has resigned from her role as chief executive of Burger & Lobster.
Zelman, who co-founded the surf-and-turf restaurant group in 2011 with Roman Zelman, Ilya Demichev, and George Bukhov-Weinstein, will continue to serve on the board as a non-executive director.
He also serves as chairman of Creative Restaurant Group, the company behind London’s Michelin-starred Humo in Mayfair and Kioku by Endo at the OWO in Whitehall.
Dino Sura, who has served as managing director for Burger & Lobster’s UK and US operations, will step into the role of global chief executive after seven years with the group.
Earlier this year, the co-founders of Burger & Lobster, Goodman Steakhouses, and Beast Restaurant formally separated their businesses. Misha and Roman Zelman resigned as directors of Goodman Steakhouses and Beast Restaurant, while Ilya Demichev and George Bukhov-Weinstein stepped down as directors of Burger & Lobster.
The leadership change comes as the eleven-location Burger & Lobster reported operating profits of £2 million in its latest financial results.
For the financial year ending 29 December 2024, UK group turnover declined from £36.1 million to £34.1 million, while UK EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) decreased from £3.6 million to £3.3 million.
Burger & Lobster also launched two new UK locations in 2025, in Brighton and London’s Kensington, as the group looks to expand further both domestically and internationally.
Misha Zelman said: “This is an exciting time for the business and the board and I believe Dino is well equipped to take the brand to its next phase of growth globally after successfully steering the brand through the pandemic, navigating the cost of living crisis, rolling out a full refurbishment programme to match customer expectations and now onto the launch of new sites and territories.”
Sura added: “I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to lead the team and take our unique offering to new audiences in the UK, and further afield. I’m lucky to have an incredibly strong leadership team in place who see the long-term vision for our business.”
