Plymouth City Council is to consider plans from the owners of Watergate Bay Hotel for the development of a £18m boutique hotel at Royal William Yard by 2015.
The proposal lays out plans to convert the Grade I listed Melville building into a 66-bedroom hotel. The hotel will be designed for business and leisure travellers and will host regular music, film, literature and art events.
Developers, Urban Splash say it will have a mix of public and private spaces, including a Swim Club with club room, pool, treatment rooms and gym; a top-end 100-cover restaurant; an events space and a members’ bar and club room leading to a rooftop terrace.
It is hoped that building work will begin in Spring next year. 2014.
