Roxy Leisure has announced Ben Warren as Managing Director to support the CEO Matthew Jones as they ramp up their expansion plans.
Ben returns to Roxy Leisure, where he held a previous Operations Manager position, most recently performing the role of Managing Director at Concept Taverns for the last 5 years.
Ben’s role at Concept Taverns saw him channel his passion for products, services, and customers for the independent operator’s venues in the heart of Leeds and in surrounding areas. Ben was responsible for all operations with a turnover of £9 million, managing operational performance and new site opening strategies.
Ben’s work at Concept Taverns resulted in the company growing from 3 to 11 sites between 2018 and 2022, increasing their team from 35 to 185. He also implemented a new head office team and a long-term goal of 20 sites for the company before 2025.
Ben now takes on the role of Managing Director at Roxy Leisure, where he is set to further grow the strong culture within the Roxy brand and will assist in overseeing the growth within the company across its Roxy Lanes and Roxy Ball Room sites around the UK. Roxy Leisure has growth planned from 14 sites to 20 in 2023, with a further 6 sites following in 2024.
Founded by brothers Matthew and Ben Jones, Roxy Leisure opened their first Roxy Ball Room site on Boar Lane, Leeds back in 2013. One year later, they opened their second site and first bowling lane concept, Roxy Lanes, in Leeds. Roxy Leisure describes itself as ‘professionals at play who bring the playground to the bar - for people who want to embrace their playful side, with a huge variety of games, an amazing bar and massive rock and indie tunes.’
Ben enthused, “I am thrilled to be joining Roxy Leisure as their Managing Director. I have been familiar with the brand for a long time after serving as its Operations Manager from 2013 - 2017 and I’m a big fan of their concept. We’re set for a very busy 2023 and I’m excited to be jumping straight in!”
