Jones Bar Group plans 12 new Roxy bowling alleys


Jones Bar Group of Leeds is planning to open up to 12 Roxy bowling alleys over the next five years and has been looking at areas in Sheffield, Harrogate and York. It expects turnover to rise to £7.5m in the next 12-18 months.

A new Roxy Lanes is to open at Pinnacle Leeds, creating 27 new jobs. The Leeds-based company invested £280,000 in the project, which features four full-size bowling lanes imported from a specialist manufacture in the US.

The new site will also include a 50-cover restaurant providing American diner-style food, including pizzas and burgers, cocktails and craft beers, 90-seats and a 180-capacity. It is the eighth bar venue opened by Jones Bar Group in the last 10 years.

The company, which has a £5.5m turnover and 35 full-time staff, also owns Bar 166 & Bistro, Horsforth and The Shed Bar, Brooklyn Bar, Hirst’s Yard, 51% Bourbon and NY Burger Kitchen in Leeds city centre.

In addition to Roxy Lanes, it is also launching LAB bar at the Merrion Centre, near Leeds Arena today.
