Easy Lunch Co wins £10m education catering deal

West Sussex education caterer, Easy Lunch Company has clinched a four-year deal worth £10m to cater to seven infant schools in and around the market town of Horsham.

The company will provide daily hot lunches to all infant children under the Free School Meals initiative, as well any other children who wish to pay for their hot meal.

The deal will see the family-run catering firm serve up lunches for an initial period of four years, with the option to extend for another five years.

Easy Lunch offers two meals per day to choose from: a standard meal and a vegetarian alternative. These are accompanied by a choice of salad, vegetables, fresh bread and milk. To finish there are home made puddings or a choice of fresh fruit and yoghurt.

Established in 2003 by Emma and Patrick Treasure, the business moved into education catering in 2008, when the team started supplying local primary schools with hot meals.

The Easy Lunch Company now caters for approximately 2,500 children per day, cooking meals in a state-of-the-art production kitchen at the West Sussex hub.
