Award-winning Lancashire pub & microbrewery sees price reduction

Lancashire pub Ye Horns Inn was introduced to the market by Fleurets in November 2016. However, after six months of marketing, the property’s freehold has been reduced from £695k to £595k.

This attractive 18th century coaching inn features in the 2017 Good Pub Guide as well as the Good Beer Guide of the same year. Furthermore, it was voted Pub of the Year for Lancashire in 2014, as well as being awarded the prestigious Taste Lancashire High Quality award in 2010.

Ian Taylor, Associate at Fleurets, commented, “This hostelry is a well-renowned establishment within the local community and would provide a potential owner with multiple additional income streams from 6 en-suite letting rooms, a 2.45 acre caravan and camping site, whilst the premises has also been granted planning permission to extend the restaurant towards the patio area.

'Furthermore, the freehold price includes a 5 barrel micro-brewery plant and the Goosnargh Brewing Company, which currently brews three times fortnightly.”

Established in the spring of 2013, the micro-brewery creates ales such as:
Goosnargh Gold 4% ABV
Goosnargh Truckle 3.7% ABV
Red 3.9% ABV
Bit O' Blonde 4% ABV
Pale 3.6% ABV

The premises has been under the ownership of the same family since 1952, and is currently operated by Mark and Denise Woods, who commented, “Good food and service has always been paramount to our business. Over our time at the inn we have added the caravan site, hotel rooms in the barn at the rear of the property and latterly the micro-brewery.

'However, we feel after 30 years under our guidance it is time to move on and free up some time to enjoy our ever-extending family, (whom no longer live in Lancashire) with our first grandchild due in October this year.
