Bubbacue closes its two Belfast restaurants

The American barbecue-themed restaurant, Bubbacue has ceased trading, with the loss of about 30 jobs at its two outlets in Belfast.

Bubbacue first opened in November 2012 as a pop-up restaurant, before becoming a permanent fixture on Callender Street in the city centre.

A second restaurant opened in June last year on Botanic Avenue, after the Bubbacue founders secured £400k from the Growth Loan Fund.

The company had previously planned to open a third outlet in Northern Ireland, and another in Dublin.
