Leadership shake-up: Village Hotels appoints its first Chief Operating Officer
Village Hotel Club has strengthened its leadership team with three new appointments to drive its growth strategy.

Paul Roberts, formerly chief financial officer, will now serve as the company’s first chief operating officer (COO). Matthew Ward has been named chief financial officer (CFO), while Jon Davis takes on the role of chief technology officer (CTO).

As COO, Roberts will be responsible for shaping the company’s vision, strategic framework, systems, efficiency, and sustainability, while ensuring alignment across commercial, operational, and guest experience teams.

As CFO, Ward will oversee financial operations and collaborate with the senior leadership team to support the company’s growth strategy.

As CTO, Davis will lead Village’s technology strategy, overseeing the implementation of both internal and customer-facing systems to improve the guest experience.

Gary Davis, CEO of Village Hotel Club, said: “Strong leadership remains key to delivering exceptional guest and member experiences and driving Village’s long-term success. I look forward to Paul enhancing our operational excellence in his new role, whilst Matthew and Jon bring a wealth of experience, making them invaluable additions to our executive team.

“Today, I believe we have one of the best teams in the leisure industry, highly capable of leading the next phase of Village’s exciting growth trajectory. This will see us acquire and transform new sites, continue to evolve our customer proposition, and deliver operational best practices to cement Village as one of the UK’s most exciting hotel and leisure brands,” he added.

The leadership expansion coincides with the company’s preparation for an £82 million refurbishment programme aimed at upgrading existing assets in its first phase of investment.
