Accor Appoints New CEO for Europe and North Africa
French hotel group Accor has appointed Karelle Lamouche as chief executive for its premium, midscale, and economy brands in Europe and North Africa.

In her new role, she will direct Accor’s activities across a region encompassing over 3,000 properties in more than 40 countries—around 40% of the company’s worldwide network.

Its portfolio includes Pullman, Mövenpick, Swissôtel, Novotel, Mercure, Handwritten Collection, Tribe, Ibis, and Greet.

Since joining Accor in 1998.

Whitbread speeds expansion of its Hub by Premier Inn brand
Whitbread plans to expand its Hub by Premier Inn brand after purchasing the freehold of Victory House in London’s Holborn.

The budget hotel group bought the eight-storey Victory House at 30–34 Kingsway—a former 1920s office building—from a private overseas investor for an undisclosed amount.

The 45,000 sq ft property, which remains occupied until spring 2026, is slated to reopen as a 200-bedroom Hub by Premier Inn in 2028, pending planning approval from Camden Council.

The hotel will overlook Lincoln’s Inn Fields and Covent Garden.

Travelodge sees Q3 profit growth amid hurdles in first half
Travelodge reported a “solid” performance in the third quarter ending 30 September 2025.

Year-to-date group revenue reached £783.2 million, remaining broadly flat compared with the same period last year, reflecting a softer first half.

The budget hotel chain said a challenging first half of the year was offset by a strong third-quarter performance, supported by improved market conditions in the UK, new hotel openings, and continued growth in its Spanish operations.

Year-to-date adjusted EBITDA reached £140.

Haven commits £9m for four new Wetherspoon pubs
Haven, the British holiday park operator, is preparing to nearly double its JD Wetherspoon pub portfolio following a £9 million investment.

In January 2024, the 830-site pub group formed an exclusive partnership with Haven, resulting in the opening of the franchised Five Stones pub at Primrose Valley, Yorkshire, in March.

Earlier this year, Haven invested an additional £6.7 million into its Wetherspoon pub portfolio, leading to the opening of the Red Rocks at Devon Cliffs in Devon; the Humber Stone at Cleethorpes Beach in Lincolnshire.

Morston Hall hotel sold following more than three decades under family ownership
The long-time owners of Morston Hall hotel in Norfolk have sold the property after more than 30 years.

Tracy and Galton Blackiston, who launched the five-AA-red-star hotel in 1992, described their choice to move on as a “bittersweet” decision.

Morston Hall, set within a 17th-century country house in Blakeney, has held a Michelin star and four AA rosettes at its fine dining restaurant for 25 years.

The property was sold in April to hotelier Henry Elworthy.

Ennismore to open luxury Delano hotel in London in 2026
Ennismore will launch the first Delano luxury lifestyle hotel in London next year.

The 67-room hotel, currently under development near Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, is scheduled to open in late 2026.

The opening will mark the UK debut of the Delano brand, which first launched in Miami in 1995 and is styled to evoke the atmosphere of a private members’ club.

Founded in 1999 by Sanjay’s father, Surinder Arora, the group owns more than 20 UK hotels, including Fairmont Windsor Park and Bedfordshire’s Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa, which is earmarked for redevelopment under the Fairmont brand.

Great Northern hotel rebrands after being acquired by Turkish Hospitality Group
The Great Northern Hotel at London’s King’s Cross has been rebranded as the Kaya Great Northern Hotel after its sale to the Turkish hospitality group last year.

Kaya Tourism Group, which runs 13 hotels across Turkey and Northern Cyprus, acquired the 88-room property in July 2024 as its first venture into the UK market.

Kaya Tourism Group has indicated that it intends to use the hotel as a launchpad for its expansion into the UK, with plans to strengthen its footprint in London.
