The Gate to open fourth & only vegan restaurant in St Johns Wood

Vegan institution The Gate is set to become the only vegan restaurant in London's St Johns Wood, as it opens its fourth site via CDG Leisure.

The advisory firm secured a 3,270 sq ft unit at the former Delisserie restaurant on Allitsen Road, NW8.

The Gate was established in 1989 and has been lauded by the restaurant industry for its focus on healthy eating.

Diners can expect to see the same signature dishes as the Hammersmith, Islington and Marylebone branches, such as the miso-gazed aubergine and green dragon smoked tofu salad, as well as the children’s menu and prix fixe lunch.

Variations on the menu and a weekend brunch are also being developed by the restaurant which is set to open in October this year.

A spokesman for The Gate, said, “We are extremely happy to be opening up our fourth site. St Johns Wood is a top location and we are a stone’s throw from some other great restaurants in the area. The size of the unit is also brilliant, allowing us to do many different things with the space, and we look forward to opening later this year.”

Emma Cousins, CDG Leisure, who brokered the deal on behalf of both Delisserie and The Gate, added, “To give diners a vegan-centred option in St Johns Wood is fantastic. The Gate is guaranteed to be a welcome addition to the area with its burgeoning culinary scene.

'Not only does it carry the weight of a brand that has been focusing on plant-based dishes for almost 30 years, it also brings a dining offer which is in line with the changing tastes and lifestyles of consumers to a new part of London, giving more clientele the chance to enjoy this very special experience.”
