Waka to open third site this month

Peruvian-Japanese fast food group, Waka is set to launch its third outlet in London mid-January, joining sister sites in White City in W12 and EC3.

Waka will open on Thomas More Street in E1, offering Nikkei cuisine with hot bowls, sushi and ceviche freshly made everyday.

When the first Japanese settled in far-away Peru in the 1800s, Fuji met Machu in an exotic fusion of culinary traditions and Nikkei cuisine was born. Waka brings a contemporary version of Nikkei cuisine for people on the go.

From the Sake & Miso salmon Anticucho, Nikkei Chicken, and Vegan Rice Hot Bowl to the Sushi de salmón and Salmon Tataki, Waka offers a wide range of affordable Nikkei dishes.

For sides, there's Plantain Chips Edamame and Cancha Corn, and there's also Mango & Passion Fruit Mousse to finish.

Waka launched in Eastcheap in the City in 2017 but ,as there were a few problems with that site, the team were forced to close it. The business has since had success with the White City branch, which opened in 2018.

The name Waka holds meaning in both languages. In Japanese, Waka means 'poem', standing for creativity. In the language of Ancient Incans, it means 'something sacred;, standing for value.
