Adventure Bars to launch new jerk BBQ concept

London based bar operator Adventure Bars, which is led by Tom Kidd, is to launch a new fast-casual jerk BBQ rum shack concept in Covent Garden in March.

The concept will open on the ground floor of one of the company’s existing bars at 20 Bedford Street. It will boost 16-covers and will be a trail site with an aim to roll out the concept into larger venues in the near future.

Known as Dub Jam, the concept is a collaboration between the four-strong company and F&B design agency Mystery, which helped create the Giraffe brand (among others). Reggae music label Trojan Records has also been brought on-board to provide music for the site, with Trojan album cover artwork forming part of its decoration.

Dub Jam will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a BBQ menu rooted in ‘Caribbean everyday favorites’. The food on offer will include a range of Soul Rebel Skewers; Beach Burgers; and the Dub Shack burger, served with grilled pineapple, Blue Mountain coffee & molasses cured bacon.

A selection of rums and Caribbean drinks including Red Stripe, Carib Beer, Sasparilla and Coconut Water will also be on offer, all of which will be served in hand-painted tin cans.
