Boston Tea Party plans 20th cafe in Edgbaston

Cafe chain Boston Tea Party is planning to open a new outlet in Edgbaston, Birmingham on a former NatWest bank site.

The Harborne Road venue will have an outside seating area and an orangery at the back, and the business will create 25 jobs.

The Victorian building will be renovated with contemporary features like glass sliding doors and double height spaces.

There will be offices on the two levels above while NatWest will remain in the back extension.

The area, that developers call Edgbaston Village, includes the High Field gastro pub and hotel, The Edgbaston hotel, Simpsons restaurant, Norjske and The Blue Piano.

Boston Tea Party serves up cooked breakfasts, soups, burgers and salads. The company launched its first cafe in Bristol and now operates 19 venues across the south west and Midlands.
