Crudo to open relocated restaurant with new wine store in W1

London's first build-you- own cevicheria, Crudo has announced the opening date and address of its relocated Fitzrovia site.

The restaurant and to-go lunch spot is moving from Riding House St to nearby Foley Street on 30 January to allow for more dining-in space and the addition of a small wine shop on the site.

The previous site has been very popular with local workers for a quick, healthy and delicious lunch and this new site continues on that basis with signature and customisable ceviche bowls on the menu.

Guests can choose between the classic option of fresh raw Sea Bass with homemade Leche de Tigre, a Nikkei bowl with Sushi Rice, Nori and a Ponzu Leche de Tigre and their Vegano with Chickpeas, Quinoa, Avocado and Rocoto Pepper Leche de Tigre. All signature bowls are under £11 but customers can build their own version however they like.

Alongside these bowls, some of the restaurants’ signature dishes such as the Pastel de Choclo Corn Cake and the Avocado and Beetroot Tartare will be on offer throughout the day. In addition to small plates, Crudo are adding a small but perfectly formed menu of South American cocktails to the offering including Pisco Sour, Chilcano and a Smoky Mezcal Negroni.

Towards the back of the restaurant will be the pride and joy of co-owner Maria Yanez, a tiny wine shop filled with wines from across the globe. Her trusted suppliers include Wanderlust and Pure Wines who specialise in organic and natural wines, the aim is to have something special on offer for all budgets, with bottles starting from £10.

Founders Maria and Carlos Socorro created Crudo in 2019, noticing a gap in the market for their beloved ceviche. The couple, both from Venezuela, met in Miami, where ceviche is the go-to quick bite, available on every street corner.

The Fitzrovia quick service outlet opened in September 2019, with a site in Old Street following with some dine-in tables. Mare Street opened in November 2022 and represents an evolution of Crudo to a restaurant site and introduces Londoners to a whole host of new and exciting South American dishes.

The next site will open in WC2's Seven Dials in February 2023.
