Flying Trade Group to invest £30m in new snacking brand & distribution centre

Global business firm, Flying Trade Group is planning to invest £30m in a new Harwich-based snacking brand and a new multi-temperature distribution centre near Colchester, with the creation of at least 115 jobs.

CEO of the Sunday Times Top Track 250 firm, Suki Dulai (pictured), who heads up the group with brother Harry, said the company will continue to move forward with a number of projects over the next three years regardless of the economic uncertainty of Brexit.

Surya Hotels, which is also part of the group, is due to open Colchester’s newest hotel - St Nicholas Hotel - tomorrow, December 5, as the first phase of a £10m investment into Colchester.

The group started life as Surya Foods, which was founded in 1971 by Kewal Dulai, Suki's father, who came to Britain from India. Surya Foods is now the largest supplier of world food lines into supermarket giants Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons.

Another division of the company, Flying Trade Leisure operates one pub with a night club, a standalone night club, a restaurant and a guest house.
