Former Dragons Den star eyes up Little Chef

After reporting in April that Little Chef was potentially about to be put up for sale, former Dragons Den judge James Cann has put a bid in for the 80-strong company through his private equity firm Hamilton Bradshaw. The company is conducting due diligence on the business, which was then consequently placed on the market by its owner Rcapital in April.

Sources close to Caan told The Daily Telegraph that he was keen to retain the brand but that he was also looking to work with another bidder because he did not plan to retain all the sites.

The Daily Telegraph went on to speculated that the business might be worth between £10m to £15m – it was bought out of administration by Rcapital for £9m. Previously, it was reported that KFC, Starbucks and Costa Coffee were interested in buying the business with a view to re-branding sites.
