Glendola to invest £1m in station restaurant & coffee shop

Pub and restaurant operator, Glendola Leisure is planning to invest £1m in an artisan coffee shop and new bar and steak restaurant in Glasgow's centre station.

Gordon Street Coffee will be located at the entrance of the station with the new steak restaurant in the basement.

The new restaurant Alston Bar & Beef is to offer high quality steaks and Glasgow's largest collection of gins. Gordon Street Coffee is to roast their own coffee on site and offer a selection of sandwiches and pastries. Glendola aims to open both new venues in May.

Managing Director of Glendola Alex Salussolia said: “The station presents a fantastic opportunity to create two unique venues and the footfall passing through the Gordon Street entrance makes the location particularly attractive for us. We already run three successful businesses in Glasgow and one in Edinburgh and are very much looking forward to our new venture.'

Glendola Lesuire Group also operate venues in London including Waxy O’Connor’s, World’s End Pub in Camden, Brogan’s in Fulham and various other venues throughout the city. Glendola run Waxy O’Connor’s in Glasgow and Manchester and a number of venues on the south coast.
