Peach reports its most positive week on record

The Peach Pub Company has announced its most successful week on record from the 16-22 December, the last week before Christmas.

The independent company reported 7.1% like-for-like growth with sales reaching £600,000 making it a record breaking week for the company.

Founders Hamish Stoddart and Lee Cash said that the figures were boosted by several star pub performances a long with positivity at its market town pubs which before the second half of the year were struggling due to positioning outside of London.

Among the Peach star performers were the Fishes in North Hinksey, Oxford and the Rose and Crown in Warwick, which received £55,000 in the last full trading week of December – its biggest week since it opened as the firm’s original pub 11 years ago.

Since being founded 11 years ago, Peach, who has a variety of pubs and gastropubs around the UK, has achieved growth-on-growth profit every year.

Following on from a hugely positive 2013, Peach plans to expand over the next 12 months, with at least one new opening confirmed for this year as well as two major refurbishments of existing properties, and a hunt for new suitable sites.
