Bravo Inns has just opened the historic Boars Head in St Helens, Lancashire which has been extensively refurbished, after being saved from demolition by the pub group.

The Boars Head, which is situated on Elton Head Road, has reopened as a Co-operative Food store across the road from the pub has also just opened its doors.

Ken Buckley, managing director of Bravo Inns, told the St Helens Star, “I am delighted we can bring the Boars Head back to life with a fairly substantial investment.

“The pub is well over 100 years old, but had been closed for a few months and was about to be sold to a developer and demolished. We managed to get in at the last minute and bought it.

“We have completely refurbished it from top to bottom, brought the beer garden back to life and introduced the full TV package, with Sky Sports and BT Sport.”
