Dalata Hotel Group snaps up £50m Cambridge site


Ireland's largest hotel operator, the Dalata Hotel Group has acquired the £50mThe Tamburlaine Hotel, a four-star, 155-bed hotel in Cambridge.

The company, which acquired the hotel's operating and leasehold interest, will rebrand it to become Clayton Hotel Cambridge. An additional five bedrooms will be included in the rebrand, increasing the total room count to 160.

Deputy chief executive Dermot Crowley said, ''Cambridge has been a priority target city for our Clayton brand, and I am delighted that we have secured such a high-quality, modern hotel in the centre of the city.

'The acquisition of the leasehold interest of this hotel is another important step in our stated strategy of expanding our Maldron amd Clayton brands in key cities across the UK. The property is an ideal fit for our Clayton brand.'
