Tribe hotel planned for £1bn Airport City Manchester scheme

Manchester Airport Group has submitted a planning application for a hotel as part of the landmark £1bn Airport City Manchester development.

As part of the new £250m hotel district, the nine-storey, 412-bed hotel would offer 22 accessible rooms and be operated by Accor’s Tribe brand.

There would also be a restaurant but the operator is yet to be named.

Located next to Manchester Airport and on the border of Wythenshawe, the new hotel district will become home to four new hotels by 2021, providing 1,500 new hotel rooms and supporting the creation of around 700 jobs, including 250 in construction.

Airport City Manchester is a Joint Venture between Manchester Airport, Beijing Construction and Engineering Group International and Greater Manchester Pension Fund.
