The Cheese Truck to park up in Paddington this April

From Wednesday 14 April, Mathew Carver, Founder of The Cheese Truck, The Cheese Bar and Pick & Cheese, will be mobilising The Cheese Truck to celebrate the end of lockdown and bring delicious British cheese to the people of West London.

Parking up in Paddington Central, the team will be serving their sought-after grilled cheese sandwiches with a pop-up terrace beside the canal, perfect for those looking to enjoy alfresco dining this Spring.

Almost a year after the trucks first took to the streets of London to deliver ‘Self Isolation Survival Kits’, The Cheese Truck will be making the final stop in its lockdown tour, serving a line-up of irresistible grilled cheese sandwiches and wines by the glass to Paddington locals.

Passersby will be able to get their hands on a number of signature grilled cheese sandwiches including Quickes Cheddar, Montgomery’s Ogleshield and Onion; Cropwell Bishop Stilton, Swaledale Smoked Bacon and Spiced Pear Chutney or Rosary Goat’s Cheese with Honey, Walnut and Rosemary Butter. A selection of natural wines will be available by the glass, with a number specifically selected to pair perfectly with the trucks gooey grilled cheese.

Those looking to make an afternoon of it are invited to take a seat in front of The Cheese Truck, where the canal-side terrace will offer the perfect spot to sit and people watch. Positioned just next to the towpath, the terrace will also offer guests the first glimpse of The Cheese Barge, the long-awaited barge-based restaurant that will finally open its doors on 20th May.

Carver said, “Due to the government restrictions we’re still waiting to open the doors to The Cheese Barge but that isn’t going to stop us bringing cheese to the people of Paddington. We can’t wait for The Cheese Truck to be back doing what it does best, serving delicious grilled cheese sandwiches, and are so excited to finally meet some our new neighbours ahead of The Cheese Barge opening in May.”
