A duo from Swansea, Mark Power and Jane Myall, are to open a new restaurant in the city next week which is inspired by US television show Man versus Food.
Smoke Haus, will open on 13 November and will be an American diner-style restaurant located on the site of a former La Tasca. It will offer customers dishes including pulled pork sandwiches and metre long hot dogs. There will also be a food challenge similar to that on Man versus Food, to eat six spicy wings in ten minutes. In the show, food enthusiast Adam Richman scours the USA for big food offerings and competes in the all important challenges.
Mark Power, from Swansea, and Jane Myall, originally from Newport, wanted to bring something diverse to Swansea and had the idea for the new “dining experience” months ago, but have been waiting for the right venue. They secured the La Tasca site less than 24 hours after the company said it was pulling out of Wind Street.
