Hertfordshire based Peach Pub Company, led by Hamish Stoddart and Lee Cash, are set to open their sixteenth pub this October which will also be their pub to open this year.
The award winning gastro-operator has secured the Star and Garter in Leamington Spa from Greene King’s tenanted estate, making it the forth pub Greene King have sold to Peach. A £500,000 refurbishment is well underway at the site, adding a kitchen as the pub was previously just a wet-let community pub.
However this year hasn’t been all peachy for the company. They have struggled to match last year’s like-for-like sales since the start of April with the horrendous wet weather putting a dampener on many customers. Last month, like-for-likes sales were down by 1.5 per cent on the year before but in August sales have been up by three per cent on the previous year.
