26 Grains founder & top female chefs to celebrate International Women’s Day

On Sunday 8 of March, Alex Hely-Hutchinson, founder of 26 Grains and Stoney Street, and Head Chef Henrietta Inman, will host a line-up of some of London's best female chefs in celebration of International Women’s Day.

The one-off lunch will see Anna Jones, Shuko Oda, Sarit Packer, Freddie Janssen and Francesca Diliberto join Hely-Hutchinson at the stoves for an afternoon championing women in the industry and beyond.

Each chef will create a dish inspired by the women who have shaped their lives. Shuko Oda, co-founder and head chef of Koya, Londoners’ favourite Japanese udon noodle, bar will be serving Lemon sole and White Asparagus with Miso Butter.

Author of award-winning cook books A Modern Way to Eat, A Modern Way to Cook and The Modern Cook’s Year, Anna Jones will be whipping up a seasonal vegetarian dish while Pickled author & founder of Snackbar, Dalston Junction’s neighbourhood café, Freddie Janssen, will bring a taste of Mexico to the evening, with Scallop & Blood Orange Tostada.

Hely-Hutchinson and Inman will be serving a Stoney Street favourite and to finish, Sarit Packer, Chef Founder of restaurants Honey & Co, and Honey & Smoke and award-winning cookery book writer, will serve a Feta & Honey Cheesecake on Kadaif Pastry.

The evening’s wine list will be curated by sommelier, Francesca Diliberto, from Stoney Street’s neighbour, Flor.

Hely-Hutchinson said, 'For International Women’s Day I wanted to bring some of London’s female chefs together - we’re not only celebrating women in the industry but women everywhere.

'It’s a real honour for me to have all of these women cooking in Stoney Street’s kitchen; they’re people I respect and who inspire me, and this lunch will be an opportunity to showcase a host of different flavours, influences and talents in one afternoon.'

The lunch will take place on International Women’s Day, Sunday 8th March 2020 at 1PM.
