New Palé Hall owners to introduce new spa and dining venue

The ownership of Palé Hall Hotel & Restaurant in Llandderfel, Wales, has transitioned to private buyers Anthony and Donna Barney of Baslow Holdings Developments.

For the past decade, Angela and Alan Harper have been the proprietors of the 22-bedroom, five-AA-red-star country house hotel nestled within 50 acres of landscaped gardens.

In February, the couple listed the property for sale with a guide price of £6 million as they prepared for retirement.

Dating back to 1871, the hotel underwent refurbishment in 2015. It boasts a grand hall, reception room, library, dining room, bar, and a distinguished fine dining restaurant. This restaurant proudly holds three AA rosettes and a Michelin green star.

The incoming owners have ambitious plans to enhance the hotel, including the addition of another restaurant, a spa featuring an organic dining area, and potentially expanding the number of bedrooms available.

The Barneys expressed their commitment to preserving the essence of Palé Hall, stating they are 'keen to maintain Palé Hall as it is'. They plan to retain Debbie Cappadona as the general manager, along with much of the existing team.

Cappadona took over as the general manager of Palé Hall Hotel & Restaurant in 2019, succeeding Harry Shepherd in the role.

Tom Cunningham, director in the hotels team at Savills, which marketed the property, said: 'The sale of Palé Hall provided the purchaser with the chance to acquire the freehold of an exceptional hotel, as well as a profitable business with value-add opportunities.

'Given its stunning location and strong fundamentals it is unsurprising that we were able to find a new owner who will continue its legacy.'

Baslow Holdings Limited, established in 2014, encompasses brands like Countrywide Park Homes and Countrywide Holidays within its portfolio.
