Clapham Common neighbourhood restaurant launches breakfast menu

Minnow, Clapham Common's neighbourhood restaurant, founded by Chris Frichot and Saba Tsegaye, is set to launch an early morning menu, bringing breakfast to the locals of SW4 and beyond.

This February, Head Chef Jake Boyce and team, will be busy baking in the kitchen from the early hours, creating a menu of daily homemade bakes and pastries, including crumpets, scones and teacakes, served with clotted cream and homemade jam.

Available from 9am, other breakfast staples include classic poached eggs on house baked bread, bircher muesli, homemade yoghurt topped with granola, and fresh fruit salad bowls, for those who prefer a healthier start. During the weekend, the brunch menu features some more indulgent dishes such as tattie scones with a fried egg, as well as brunch favourites, eggs florentine and eggs benedict.

To wash it down, breakfast and brunch cocktails include The Italicus and French 75, as well as freshly blended juices including orange and pomegranate, and spinach, cucumber and apple. No wake up can be without coffee, with Minnow’s in-house barista, Nicco, carefully creating their house roast, using beans from Central America.

Boyce said, “We wanted to fulfil our all-day dining offering, and creating a breakfast menu is the final piece to the puzzle. Guests are invited to grab a pastry and coffee as fuel for their morning commute or while away the morning in comfort and good company.” says Chris Frichot. “This is just the beginning of our breakfast menu, we’re hoping to develop it in the coming weeks and add weekly seasonal specials, too.”

Located just around the corner from Clapham Common tube, the ground floor is a bright and fresh space filled with branches adorned with flowers, which change seasonally, and a long marble bar looking out over the Common.

A hand tiled monochrome mosaic floor leads to a door, tucked at the back of the restaurant, where a quiet walled garden provides space for guests to dine outside under the heaters - perfect for alfresco dining during those crisp winter mornings.
