Salon launches wine & vinyl nights

This April, the Salon team will launch Strictly Bangers at their newly opened wine store; a series which brings together their passion for banging wine and great music.

Once a month from April, top London sommeliers, including Mattia Bianchi of Berber & Q, Florian Siepert from Goodman, Daniel Willis of The Clove Club and brothers Francis and Mat Roberts from Westerns Laundry and Primeur, will be bringing their best bottles to the table and matching it with their top tunes.

Dipping into a range of low intervention and natural wines from Salon’s shelves, and bringing one bottle from their own collection, guests can expect rare, cult wines with playlists ranging from classic house, 80s disco and boogie, to dance floor jazz, 90s hip-hop and rub a dub reggae.

First up on 5 April, Berber & Q’s Mattia Bianchi will be serving up some rare bottles from Oregon, USA, from talented producers, such as Minimus Wines, Kelley Fox and more, alongside music that will remind you of sunsets in Ibiza, looking at the sea from a chiringuito on the beach.

On 3 May, Florian Siepert from Goodman will likely be bringing out a “dry Riesling spesh, with zingy acid and floral aromatics” and exploring the “Kompakt diaspora with a sojourn via East Coast hip hop and a splash of rubadub”.

Next will be Daniel Willis from The Clove Club on 7th June, with a selection of cult classics and finally, on 5 July, the Roberts brothers will be playing some afro-beat and disco, while pouring some Christian Tschida 'Brutal' from magnum as well as selecting some of the more natural and juicy end of the Salon cellar.

Nicholas Balfe, Chef Founder of Salon, said, “The premise is simple; we’re inviting industry friends down to the Wine Store to liven up a Thursday night with banging wine and banging tunes”.

Director of Salon, Mark Gurney added, “Nicholas, Matt and I will also be cracking open some of our favourite wines and records, including volcanic bangers and skin contact killers, along with some old classics from such names as Dujac and Cepparello.”
