Futura wins big at 2019 International Cheese Awards

Following a bumper haul at the 2018 International Cheese Awards, Futura Foods, the UK’s leading supplier of Mediterranean-inspired dairy products, has gone one better in 2019, landing no less than four prestigious gold medals, three silvers, four bronzes and three commendations.

Judges, including prominent food writers, dairy experts and dairy buying teams, handed Golds to Futura’s Baked Feta with Tomato and Basil, 18-month Grana Padano, Greek Grilling Cheese, and its 24-month Parmigiano Reggiano.

Silver was awarded to the company’s Goats Cheese with Honey, Halloumi and Salted Anari. Futura’s Goats Cheese with Cranberry, 24-month Parmigiano Reggiano, Graveria, and 18-month Grana Padano scooped Bronze, while its Feta, Halloumi and Salad Cheese were also awarded Very Highly Commended.

The win at the world-renowned awards is yet another milestone in the Futura story. In 2017 the company scooped a-then-record 11 medals, a tally which was duly smashed in 2018. 2019’s haul of 14 represents its best return yet. A fact which Futura Foods National Account Controller, John Steele, puts down to an uncompromising focus on quality.

Steele said, “The International Cheese Awards are the biggest and most prestigious in the world, with an unmatched calibre of judges on show. We’re delighted therefore, to yet again be honoured, especially in the face of such esteemed competition. This is proof that when it comes to cheese, quality and authenticity always wins the day.

'Our dedicated team has been instrumental in our success in recent years, I thank them and indeed our trusted partner dairies across continental Europe for their support and output – we couldn’t be prouder to share this haul with them.”
