Historic Cheshire pub & wedding venue reopens after major refurb

The Swettenham Arms, a popular pub and wedding venue situated in the picturesque village of Swettenham, has reopened its doors following a 2-month long refurbishment from Stockport based Robinsons Brewery.

This 16th century pub was acquired by the family brewers in August 2021, and the renovation continues Robinsons' commitment to investing into their 250-plus strong tenanted and managed pub estate.

The new-look pub has benefited from a sensitive refurbishment retaining and reviving original celebrated features such as crackling fireplaces and the original copper top bar. Oak beams have been sandblasted throughout the pub, with warm neutral tones adorning the area creating the perfect ambience.

The pub’s popular function room (known as the Lovell Suite) has also been redecorated and can hold up to 120 guests – a great-sized space for functions, weddings and parties.

The pub now boasts a brand-new kitchen extension to the rear of the building and a newly remodeled breakfast area, creating the perfect space to relax and have a bite to eat from their delicious menu, surrounded by the country.

Externally, the Swettenham is now decorated with blooming new flowers, a new signage scheme and external furniture, perfect for the coming warmer months. With a large external seating area, it’s the perfect spot to relax and take in the picturesque views over some tempting food and drink.
