Cedar Court Hotel Bradford reopened its doors to guests recently following an extensive £1 million 6 month refurbishment including a full overhaul of its conference and hotel facilities inspired by the city’s industrial heritage and prioritising the sustainability of the hotel.
Marking the event is a grand launch on Wednesday 8th November for business leaders and professionals to celebrate the investment and experience Cedar Court Bradford’s new and improved interiors.
The hotel is part of Yorkshire’s largest independent hotel group, Cedar Court Hotels, which turns over £18 million annually and attracts 500,000 visitors to its four hotels across Yorkshire. Whilst more than 10% of all UK independent hotels have closed in the past few years, Cedar Court Hotels Yorkshire has remained stable despite the challenging times and invested £3.2 million into its portfolio of properties to ensure it remains a popular choice for both business and leisure visitors.
The refurbishment includes upgraded and refreshed bedrooms, corridors, lounge and bar areas, restaurant, meeting rooms and a new ground floor co-working space and restaurant. With a tree in the centre to symbolise the Cedar Court brand of strong roots and growth, the new space offers a new place for local professionals to meet, work, collaborate and relax.
Sustainability and celebrating the city’s industrial heritage have been at the heart of the renovations, with a £250k investment into solar panels to reduce costs and minimise the hotel’s environmental footprint. Featuring a grey, beige, and black colour scheme with the occasional pop of colour, the interior is complemented by purposefully chosen materials previously found in cotton mills such as iron and wood.
The West Yorkshire Conference and Events Centre is the North’s largest (independent and) purpose-built conference and banqueting venue and following the refurbishment is set to be a hub for local and international visitors, attracting a diverse range of events to the city.
Led by Managing Director, Wayne Topley, judge of The Yorkshire Post ‘Yorkshire Tourism Awards 2023, Chairman of Leeds Hotels and Venues Association, Director of Harrogate BID, Committee Member of the Institute of Hospitality, and Managing Director of NorSpark Hotel Management.
Wayne Topley, Managing Director said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming guests back to Cedar Court Hotel Bradford after six months of refurbishment and part of our £3.2 million investment across the region. We wanted to create light, open and contemporary multiuse spaces to support the overall purpose of the hotel which is to bring people together and solidify our role as not just a hotel but as a pivotal business and community hub in the region. We know how important it is to work closely with our local community, and we’re excited to be welcoming business leaders and professionals to celebrate, network and create new opportunities to work together ahead of the 2025 City of Culture.”
The celebration event will take place on 8th November between 6.00pm – 7.45pm with drinks, canapés and networking.
