Bills & Jamies Italian sign up with £80m WestQuay Watermark

Bill’s Restaurant and Jamie’s Italian to join the line-up of restaurants at WestQuay Watermark, Hammerson's £80m leisure-led development in Southampton.

Bill’s Restaurant, which will be making its debut in Southampton, will take a 3,100 sq ft unit, located on the lower promenade of the scheme that will open out onto the new plaza thereby accommodating an outside seating area. A popular all day dining destination, Bill’s will bring its trademark breakfast to bedtime menu as well as serving afternoon tea, daily specials and a children’s menu.

Jamie’s Italian, the relaxed Italian restaurant launched by Jamie Oliver, has signed up to a 5,100 sq ft unit also fronting on to the new plaza providing an outside seating terrace. Offering simple, rustic Italian food using top quality, higher welfare ingredients, Jamie’s Italian has rapidly expanded throughout the UK and WestQuay Watermark will provide the restaurant with its first in Southampton.

WestQuay Watermark has a successful track record in signing up leading restaurateurs with Wahaca, Byron, Five Guys, Zizzi and Nando’s all set to open. Construction of the development, which will become a new city centre leisure and dining destination for Southampton, continues to make good progress with ground breaking and piling having commenced in March.

On schedule to open in late 2016, WestQuay Watermark also forms a key part of the centrepiece of Southampton City Council’s VIP ‘Heart of the City’ project, as identified within its City Centre Master Plan that promotes its vision for the city.

Bill’s Managing Director, Roberto Moretti, said, “We are delighted to be part of the new WestQuay Watermark development. It’s very exciting to be part of this new destination and to be opening a restaurant in Southampton, and we are looking forward to bringing great Bill’s food, atmosphere and service to the party.”

Sarah Fox, Head of Restaurants and Leisure at Hammerson, commented, “Both Bill’s Restaurant and Jamie’s Italian are great additions to the array of restaurants we have already attracted to WestQuay Watermark. Welcoming more new restaurants to Southampton is testament to the fantastic new leisure and dining hub we are bringing to the city and only strengthens the appeal that it will have for customers to enjoy the premier retail, leisure and dining destination in the area.”
