Magic Rock enters no & low alcohol market

Huddersfield-based craft brewery, Magic Rock is entering the no and low market for the first time with the launch of Freeride, a 0.5% ABV Mango & Passionfruit Pale Ale.

Using a combination of Citra, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops, it’s brewed to offer the bite of a huge IPA, but with a fraction of the alcohol. The full flavoured beer is brewed to strength with a distinctive tropical twist that is complimented by a fresh and fruity aroma.

Freeride is unlike most low alcohol beers as it is suitable for vegans. When creating products for the no and low alcohol category, it is common practice amongst brewers to add lactose, a milk-derived sugar that gives the beer more body and a thicker mouthfeel.

However, Magic Rock prides itself on satisfying those with dietary requirements, which is why its entire core range is registered with The Vegan Society and contains several gluten-free options.
