Scunthorpe United has been granted planning approval by North Lincolnshire Council to build its new £18m stadium which will seat 12,000 fans.
A construction company will be chosen next month with completion of the scheme due by July 2016. Bidders include Buckingham, Hall Construction, Henry Boot, Clugston and McLaughlin & Harvey.
The stadium will be part of the larger Lincolnshire Lakes development, a multimillion pound project that will help meet growing local demand for housing and boost inward investment into the region.
