BM receives silver rating for business sustainability

BM Caterers has been awarded a silver medal by a leading business sustainability rating platform, placing it in the top 15% of all rated companies.

BM’s score places it in the 90th percentile among more than 150,000 companies across 185 countries assessed by EcoVadis. BM has been engaged with EcoVadis since 2016 as part of a client partnership and has held official accreditation since 2023.

EcoVadis supports BM through annual sustainability assessments, tailored action plans, and access to resources, webinars, and events — all aimed at driving sustainability improvements and reducing carbon emissions through a robust carbon measurement strategy.

Elisabeth Ortiz, ESG lead at BM Caterers, said: “We are delighted to have secured yet another accreditation for our ESG initiatives. As a business that doesn’t sit still, we are constantly looking to improve policies, KPIs and reporting as necessary. It’s important that we all understand that we are on a constant journey to improve, change and adapt.”

Since September 2024, one of BM’s key ESG initiatives has been hosting quarterly roundtables with clients. These sessions have explored topics such as sustainable diets and responsible sourcing, creating a collaborative space for BM and its clients to share perspectives, align on ESG goals, and discuss priorities, challenges, and opportunities for impact.

Throughout 2025, BM is delivering 11 ESG campaigns focused on a range of social and environmental issues — from Food Waste Action Week and Plastic Free July to Pride Month. These initiatives aim to raise awareness among team members and customers, encouraging more sustainable choices and habits that support both BM’s and its clients’ net zero goals. In addition, BM runs regular 'Spotlight on Sustainability' roadshows at client sites to showcase its environmental efforts and engage teams directly.

These initiatives align with the broader ESG ‘Second Nature’ goals of BM’s parent company, WSH, which include science-based targets for emissions reduction.
