Aldi has revealed that it will open five new stores within a 24-hour period as the Christmas shopping rush approaches.
The retailer will launch new branches in Uxbridge, Old Kent Road, Northallerton and Pershore on 11 December, followed by another opening in Yate, Bristol, on 12 December.
The new stores will provide customers with fresh British produce as well as its popular range of Specialbuys. The five openings are also expected to create around 200 jobs across the local communities.
Jon Neale, real estate managing director at Aldi UK, said: “Opening any new store is exciting, but opening five in 24 hours, just before Christmas, will make a huge difference for customers in each of these areas. It reflects the demand we’re seeing right across the UK and the scale of our ambition as we continue to grow.
“We’re committed to growing in the right places, with the right teams, bringing our low prices and high-quality products to even more communities.”
This expansion forms part of Aldi’s wider goal to grow its UK estate to 1,500 stores and bring its low-priced, high-quality products to even more shoppers.
The supermarket has also recently revealed plans to open 16 additional stores before Christmas this year.
