UK Krispy Kreme sees pre-tax profits soar by over £4m


Doughnut chain, Krispy Kreme's UK operation has reported an annual pre-tax profit rise to £7.3m, compared to like-for-like of £3.2m, for the 12 months to 1 February 2015.

The UK division's turnover stood at £52.2m in comparison to like-for-like of £52.4m, and gross profit margin rose to 56.9% from 53.3% for the previous year.

Adjusted EBITDA, before exceptional costs, stood at £10.3m compared with £9.4m in the previous year.

The company stated it was pleased with the UK's results at its 50-plus outlets, particularly with the strong performance of its business in Scotland and the success of new store openings.

With such positive results, Krispy Kreme intends to continue with its expansion plans for the UK as appropriate sites become available.
