The award-winning British chef, Lee Westcott is set to bring his farm to fork ethos to Croydon hotel, Birch (Selsdon), on 27 April.
Known to the public from appearances on Great British Menu, MasterChef and Saturday Kitchen and for his leadership of Pensons and Typing Room, Westcott will open Birch (Selsdon)’s signature restaurant, Elodie, and all-day dining British brasserie, Vervain.
In his next venture, Westcott will take cues from the estate’s major rewilding project, using the surrounding 200 acres of rolling hills and green space to grow ingredients for foraging, begin an on-site kitchen garden and later this year launch nomadic dinners in the land with special guest chef collaborations.
Elodie will serve up a seasonal five-course tasting menu celebrating the best produce the British Isles has to offer.
Situated within the 19th century mansion house, Elodie’s 100-seat dining room has been cleverly remodelled by Sella Concept, injecting contemporary drama into the Victorian period room.
Everyone is welcome, whether they are sleeping over, a member, or just visiting to specifically eat at Elodie. The restaurant will be open for dinner each week from Wednesday to Saturday.
