De Vere are considering selling its conference venue business which currently generates earnings of £30 million. The decision will be made after the forthcoming auction of Principal Hayley hotel and conference. If sold the money raised will be used to reduce the £1.1bn that De Vere owes Lloyds Bank with some of the proceeds being used to invest in its Hotels business including the Grand Hotel and Village chain.
