Taco Bell set to expand UK presence

The world’s largest Mexican-style QSR chain, Taco Bell is expanding its presence across the North of England with the help of property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH).

LSH has been working with one of Taco Bell’s UK franchisees, Northgate Fast Foods, to find new sites across the north for some months and has already facilitated two new in line stores in Sheffield as well as one in Barnsley and another in Nottingham.

The two sites in Sheffield are both located in the city centre, on Ecclesall Road and Devonshire Street respectively, and, along with the Barnsley outlet on Peel Street, total more than 6,000 sq ft of retail space for Taco Bell in South Yorkshire alone.

LSH is assessing high street and shopping centre opportunities across Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Northumberland & Tyne and Wear, as well as locations at some of the region’s major transport hubs – something that would be a first for the brand in the UK.

Founded in 1962 in California, Taco Bell serves made-to-order and customisable tacos, burritos, nachos and other specialities. The company has over 6,000 sites across the US and over 250 international outlets, including five UK stores in Bradford, Manchester and the East of England.
