New Swansea Taco Bell breaks records in soft launch weekend


Yum Brands' Taco Bell has just opened its first outlet in Swansea, and is operating a takeaway, click and collect and delivery service until the restaurant can open.

Situated on Oxford Street, the franchised site, which is managed by Richard Walkey, officially opened yesterday but for the soft launch from Friday and over the weekend three records were hit.

Walkey said, 'On Friday, we set the highest hourly sales for a Welsh Taco Bell. On Saturday we set a franchise record of three £1,000 hours in a row and on Sunday we set our highest hours again beating it by about £150.'

The new Swansea site is the second Taco Bell restaurant to open in Wales after the Cardiff venue opened last March just weeks before the first lockdown, and saw people queue for five hours.

Taco Bell dishes up the likes of Crunchwrap Supreme - a wrap with seasoned beef, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, crunchy tostada and nacho cheese sauce inside a grilled, folded flour tortilla, and Nachos Bell Grande. seasoned nachos topped with nacho cheese sauce, black beans, seasoned beef, diced tomatoes and sour cream.

For a sweet treat, there's churros with cinnamon sugar, and a dulce de leche dipping sauce.
