French restaurant group Le Bistrot Pierre, which is headed by Robert Beacham and John Whitehead, is to double in size having secured £4m of new funding from NatWest.
Having opened its first site in Nottingham almost 20 years ago, the ten-strong group has already secured new sites in Birmingham, Cardiff and Torquay with other suitable venues being sought in Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Milton Keynes, Bristol and Taunton.
The 11th Le Bistrot Pierre restaurant is set to open in November 2013 in Cardiff – it follows the new launch in Plymouth over Easter
Turnover for the company in the year to 31 December rose 10% to £11m and pre-tax profit grew from £425,500 to £889,000.
