Fuller’s introduces new Wine Team

Fuller’s has filled three new sales roles within its Wine Team and has welcomed Gabrielle Coope, Matt Scowen and Will Phaure. The new trio will focus mainly on traditional and premium on trade channels, as well as developing business through regional wholesalers.

Another recent addition to the Fuller’s Wine Team is Alex Stevenson who joined Fuller’s to look after wine development in the Fuller’s estate of approximately 400 managed and tenanted pubs and hotels.

The team’s priorities for 2017 are to continue to work closely with Fuller’s existing customers, as well as its own pubs, to develop profitable wine sales, while also attracting new, increasingly food-led customers.

Head of Wine, Neil Bruce, explained, “I am really chuffed that we have been able to attract wine industry specialists of the calibre and quality of Gabrielle, Matt, Will and Alex. The new Fuller’s Wine Team is trained up to Diploma level and has a combined wine industry experience of more than 60 years, including myself.

“Our proposition is very different to the traditional distributor-led ‘push’ model. And this is reflected in our expanding wine range. We believe passionately in quality and a ‘pull’ approach to identifying appropriate wines for each customer’s wine list.

In essence, we take a consumer-facing approach to each wine list and don’t push one supplier’s wines over another. Our job is to list wines and options that are right for the customer and their consumers and to design wine lists that are engaging and easy to navigate.“
