Grocemania announces Unilever partnership

Same-day grocery delivery service Grocemania has announced a new partnership with consumer goods giant Unilever.

Launched in February 2019, Grocemania allows consumers to buy groceries from local, independent stores and have them delivered to their home within as little as one hour. The startup has partnered with Unilever to enable users to buy their ice creams from 80 locations across the UK from 1 June.

Unilever ice cream products such as Ben & Jerry’s, Magnum and Twister are all available via the Grocemania app or website.

Grocemania has partnered with hundreds of stores across the UK, working with the likes of Budgens, Nisa, Londis and Costcutter, as well as independent retailers. Its new partnership with Unilever will ensure customers can buy much-loved ice cream brands at retail price, as well as being able to create discounted bundles of multiple products.

Askar Bulegenov, founder and director of Grocemania, said: “We are delighted to announce the partnership with Unilever, which owns many of the UK’s favourite food and drink brands. As we head into summer and temperatures rise, we know that customers are going to love the option to buy ice creams on Grocemania and have them delivered quickly.

“Throughout the coronavirus lockdown, demand for grocery delivery services has soared. By working with Unilever, we are ensuring more people have access to a wider range of products from the safety of their own home. We’re excited to be working with such a renowned name like Unilever and look forward to seeing where the partnership takes us.”

Grocemania’s same-day delivery service is operational across London, Bristol and Brighton; with expansion into Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester and Birmingham to be completed by July 2020.

Grocemania also offers nationwide next-day delivery on fresh produce boxes from New Covent Garden Market.

There is no minimum spend on orders. Grocemania charges a fixed delivery fee of £4.50 on orders under £10; £2.50 on orders between £10 and £30; and free delivery for orders over £30.
