Dishoom will be opening a new restaurant in London's Canary Wharf later this year.
Five years on from its last London opening (Kensington, 2017), the new 8,800 sq ft site in Wood Wharf will seat 355 across a double-height restaurant, bar and terrace overlooking the water.
Dishes will include:
> Paneer Roll - grilled paneer tucked inside a crisped roll with onion, peppers and green leaves, mint chutney.
> Chaap Pineapple Tikka - spiced soy kabab marinated & grilled with pineapple
> Murgh Malai - chicken thigh meat is steeped overnight in garlic, ginger, coriander stems & cream
> Dishoom House Chaat - golden-fried sweet potato covered with cool yoghurt, pomegranate, beetroot, radish & carrot
Dishoom Canary Wharf will join a family of eight restaurants opened by cousins and co-founders Shamil and Kavi Thakrar. Since the first opening in 2010, there are now five cafés in London, plus Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh.
Everything Dishoom does pays loving homage to the food and culture of Bombay and its lovely old Irani cafés: in the restaurants and delivery kitchens, at events, and through charity, donating a meal for every meal served – 13 million meals so far.
The Dishoom team cares deeply about creating a company which is an awesome place to work. They were overjoyed when they ranked as #12 best employer in the UK and #1 in hospitality in the most recent Glassdoor survey.
