The Signet Collection adds Deans Place hotel to its portfolio

The expanding Signet Collection hospitality group has obtained the Deans Place hotel in East Sussex, for an undisclosed sum.

Scheduled to open in December 2024, the Grade II-listed property, dates back to the 14th century.

Adding to Signet Collection's current lineup of hotels, the Deans Place hotel in East Sussex will join the portfolio alongside the Barnsdale in Rutland (opened in May 2023), the Retreat at Elcot Park near Newbury (opened in June 2022), and the Mitre in Hampton Court, London (established in September 2020).

Situated in the village of Alfriston, Deans Place Hotel will feature 35 bedrooms, a restaurant highlighting local produce, public lounges, a spacious function room, a heated outdoor swimming pool, and extensive grounds.

Hector Ross, managing partner of the Signet Collection, said: 'We are thrilled to welcome Deans Place hotel into our portfolio. This historic property aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing our guests with a sense of fun and laid-back affordable luxury.'

Established by Ross, the former chief operating officer of property and leisure operator Longshot, the Signet Collection has rapidly grown in the hospitality sector.

Confirmed earlier this week, Mark Jarvis has assumed the position of Culinary Director for the boutique hotel group.
