The historic Bush Hotel in Farnham has been listed for sale with an asking price starting at £12 million.
The Grade II-listed 17th-century country house hotel, newly awarded a four-star AA rating this year, is being marketed by Knight Frank in partnership with hotel brokerage Simon Stevens Associates.
The hotel has recently been extensively refurbished and now offers 95 ensuite guest rooms, spacious public areas, and a dedicated business and banqueting centre.
Planning permission has been granted to expand the hotel to 132 bedrooms and to construct a ground-floor orangery with space for 100 guests, opening directly onto the gardens.
According to the listing, the Bush Hotel is “highly profitable,” driven by a strong mix of corporate, leisure, wedding, and event business.
Knight Frank noted that the hotel includes an investment portfolio generating £60,000 annually from three adjoining retail units and offers potential for branding and asset management enhancements.
Matthew Smith, partner at Knight Frank, said: “As the only independent hotel of scale in Farnham, a new owner will benefit from the hotel’s strong industry reputation, high customer satisfaction and financial performance, with the potential for further expansion.”
Simon Stevens, director at Simon Stevens Associates, said: “As an AA-recognised and recently refurbished landmark hotel in the heart of Farnham’s market district, the Bush hotel presents a unique opportunity to acquire a prime town centre site hotel where the bedrooms enjoy such an oasis of calm along with a large car park for its central location.”
Offers in excess of £12 million are being invited by way of a company share transfer.
